Thierry Colson's relationship with India began long before the brand did. Two formative journeys, in 2003 and 2005, brought him into direct contact with the country's people, its extraordinary craft traditions, and an openness of spirit that left a lasting impression. That experience became the seed of everything that followed: the vision, the inspiration, and the sense of urgency that led him to launch his eponymous label in Paris.
That origin still shapes how the brand works today. While design happens in the Paris studio, the heart of the brand's production - sampling and seasonal manufacturing - takes place in Jaipur and New Delhi. This has never been an arm's-length sourcing arrangement. It is built on relationships, presence, and continuity. Thierry remains personally and directly involved, returning to visit his community-based manufacturers at least once a year, maintaining ties that in some cases now span two decades.

Every fabric used by Thierry Colson is natural - synthetics such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic have no place in the collections. Materials come either from India or from long-established Italian mills selected for their quality, traceability, and durability: the brand's striped poplin comes from Borghi, its corduroy from Tessuti. On the Indian side, fabrics and trims are sourced through verified supply chains, GOTS certified where applicable, built on trusted relationships cultivated over more than twenty years.

Thierry's connection to his Indian production partners predates the brand itself, going back to 2003. Cut, make, and trim work takes place in carefully chosen artisan workshops in Jaipur and New Delhi - selected for both their social standards and the quality of their craft, and operating with renewable energy and rainwater harvesting. Hand embroidery and block printing keep centuries-old techniques alive, while providing stable, dignified employment within the communities that practice them.
The brand has always been committed towards honouring genuine craftsmanship & artistry, and in doing so promises to value and uphold the very hands that have helped shaped the brand to it's present day.
