Thierry Colson often visited the charming & peaceful island of Moen in Denmark where he gets part of his inspiration & his inner peace.
On the cliff part of the island is a 1794 aristocratic Cottage, called "Folly" at the time, this folly has been built for the beautiful Lise & then is called after her : "Liselund".
Anecdote: "While visiting this lovely place after lock-down, the guide taking advantage of few visitors around, offered to have a quick look on the upper floors. I discovered there a child canopied bed covered with a ravishing printed fabric, quite significant of this refined & beloved period. I instantly fell in love with it. We re-worked the pattern in India using the antique craft called blockprint. We used 6 different wood blocks, one per color."
Thierry Colson a souvent visité l’ile de Moen au Danemark où il retrouve apaisement et inspirations.
Sur l’ile de Moen se trouve un manoir « Rousseauiste » construit en 1794, demeure aristocratique construite pour la Belle Lise appelé « Liselund ».
Anecdote : « Lors d’une visite post -covid de cet endroit plein de charme, le guide, profitant du peu de visiteurs, m’a proposé de visiter l’étage superieur, c’est alors que j’aperçus un lit d’enfant à baldaquin recouvert d’un ravissant tissu, typique de la fin du XVIII e siècle, je m’en suis inspiré et nous avons retravaillé ce motif en Inde en imprimant aux tampons de bois et à la main, 6 passages de tampons de bois, un par couleur. Technique artisanale ancestrale toujours pratiquée dans ce pays et ayant donné son nom aux tissus provencaux : Les Indiennes. »
