Pre-Spring ‘17

For Thierry Colson, summer begins in  one’s imagination.  Pre-Spring ‘17  is an urban/casual hybrid for the inbetween days when winter

slips into spring and one begins to daydream in the city of the warmer, lazier days to come.

This all begins with a spliced, optic stripe cotton poplin print in the manner of Bridget Riley,

for a little babywear style jacket with a round, detachable accordion pleat collar that you

will wear right through summer. There’s also more constructed, urban pieces notably the trench

with peignoir slouchiness that doubles as a dress in silvered linen patterned with small, allover

Matisse-like leaves.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue….

For urban cowgirls the western style smock tunic

in French ‘boutis’ quilt-textured cotton indigo is covered with classic 70s jeans style D.I.Y. embroidered feather stitching and scattered artichoke medallions with bright, large scale old time ric-rac. Indigo continues in chambray for simple shirts and slouchy trousers with embroidered waistbands.

Last but not least the new romantic, ‘Rebecca’ shirtdress is city/country ready to blow in the wind with folkloric embroidery for sophisticated nomads.

All of this is completed with the ‘Cordoba’, hat from Filùhats, which produces in one of the world’s oldest hat-making factories still in  production, est. 1755, in the Italian Alps.

Thierry Colson X Filùhats coming soon …
